The Dark Night of the Soul – Gateway to One’s Higher Consciousness

The Dark Night of the Soul – Gateway to One’s Higher Consciousness

“In the dark night of the soul, bright flows the river of God.”
–  St John of the Cross

It was a Carmelite Monk in the 16th Century, St John of the Cross, who wrote a poem and thesis entitled “Dark Night of the Soul.” The text tells of the saint’s mystical development and the stages he is subjected to on his challenging journey towards union with God. The phrase has since come to be used for such a cathartic journey of self-discovery.

The dark night of the soul is a deeply disturbing experience in which intense suffering arises at a level not felt before. Such despair can continue for days, weeks or even years. During this time, we may have feelings of being abandoned by God or the Universe, and feel a great internal anguish and void. Life may seem to offer no reassurance whatsoever, no matter how many ‘good’ things there are outwardly. There could even be thoughts that one is going crazy, and of there being just no way out, no way forward. There could be much fear about whether the future will continue to be dark in this way. The dark night is not just another low period in one’s life, it is the lowest of the lows, it is as if there is no way to hide or duck from this. The intensity of misery that is experienced is a rock-bottom place, where the individual may view themselves as insignificant, alone, empty and defeated.

The most important thing to understand at this time is that there is a deeper, spiritual meaning to this situation. There is a hidden purpose to it. In these moments of darkness the Divine is touching and purifying us. This certainly may be hard to see and this is why help must be sought. It is very difficult for a human being to see the light in the dark night by him or herself.

The nature of human beings is such that it is often at the last hour, when things have reached an extreme point, that we summon the strength and endurance to do what is required for our own well-being and happiness. Hence it is no surprise that for some people the dark night of the soul occurs. Would we listen otherwise? Have we listened fully thus far when things have gone awry? Thus with the depths of pain that the dark night brings, it becomes much more difficult to escape the pain.

During this night we are urged to learn raw honesty. We are being called upon to awaken to the truth of our shadow self, or imperfections and are being shown that vulnerability is an expression of our fuller humanity. We may begin to see how we continually inflict pain on ourselves and on others. To realize this, is uncomfortable for sure, but if we examine our thoughts and actions openly, this will be found to be so. Embracing the darkness in ourselves makes it much easier to embrace it in others also. Therefore, love, given and received, is also made much more possible through greater acceptance of that which is not love. Perhaps for the first time in this life we start to learn what Love, with a big L, is really is all about.

The dark night is all about self-acceptance. This is very hard to do, but not impossible. As Carl Jung said, “The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.” But as we progress into the night, our pain can be gradually understood and released, and the truth of one’s Divine eternal Self can be given the space to finally surface.

The real despair in the heart of human beings is a feeling of being separate from everyone and everything, including, and especially God, or the Universe. The dark night represents an opportunity to find out that there is a completeness, a oneness within one’s Self, that even includes – and gradually dissolves – those feelings of separation.

As we see the truths about our own shadow or pain, ego begins to be relegated from its primary position. This relegation involves great anguish for a human being for we have known no other way to be up to this point. Up to this point we have been ego. Ego has run our life for us. Grief and great sorrow may be felt for an identity that we begin to understand we must now let go of. As this darkness is allowed to just be without resistance, the torch of truth may put the ego in the spotlight, and we may see the impact of a ‘me’-centred life on ourselves and others. Ego makes an empty shell out of us, with no real substance, a second-hand life lived from second-hand beliefs, these forming a wall around us keeping us feeling separated from others and keeping enduring love out of our life also.

In this space of honesty we may experience an unnerving nothingness, as well as fear which arises because there is now no known or familiar way forward. We are essentially facing an unknown future, without ego (which doesn’t serve us well but which we are understandably attached to), and with simply our Self, alone and aware. It is the experience of our own death in life.

The loss of ego or personality is rebirth in an individual. The state of being ‘reborn’ can only come through dying to our conditioned thinking, whether religious, cultural, social and so on. The dark night can be the starting point for this transformational journey. And it occurs when we are ready.

The acknowledgment of our false persona (ego) is what is made poignantly possible during the painful dark night. This might otherwise take much longer. Human beings are prone to wanting an easy ride, and whilst a life lived from an ego-based mind is in fact a life of suffering, it is nonetheless easy because it is what we know. It calls to mind the phrase ‘better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know.’ But in this case the ‘devil’ you don’t know is the one that will eradicate the need for all the other devils. We are entering the place of don’t know as opposed to all that we do know, and alien as it may feel, this is where the real Self will be discovered. If you could know your way to real, enduring happiness, then most of us would be ecstatic now. This is why one of Jiddu Krishnamurti’s most well-known books is entitled Freedom From The Known, because the known (ego, beliefs, relative knowledge) does not provide the freedom and joy we seek. In fact what we think and know are the blockages.

If we can summon our deepest resources of courage and endurance at this time, and allow the human ego to be finally relinquished, then grief and fear will quickly be replaced by That which is blocked by ego. This is the peace and joy of our Divine nature. It is only by acknowledging the detrimental and insidious impacts of ego in our own life that a human being will take the challenging steps to let this go. Until we can take responsibility for our own actions and where they originate in, we can’t move into a momentum of coming from a place of no-ego. But only the loss of ego can make room for reality, God or the real Self in a direct way.

The dark night brings us face to face with our own suffering. Its message is: we cannot know light unless we know dark. It’s the space in which we realize for the first time, that life has in reality been experienced as suffering yet we have played a constant game of denying this. In becoming more aware of the hidden and unsatisfactory experiences in our daily life, we gradually shed the attachment to such experiences, drama, desperations and neediness (for in the end it is attachment). This inauthentic way of living suffices no more. The relief is huge. It is the mind that gives rise to all our activities and it is contemplation and release of the imperfections of the mind (ego) that allow actions to become pure, clear and effective.

When the extent of the ego’s controlling ways are seen for what they are, beliefs, concepts and judgments become greyed out. What takes their place is an empty vessel from which to listen and speak, in innocence, focus, honesty and spontaneity. It may sometimes seem that freedom in reality is not the freedom we had previously imagined; it’s an alien feeling due to there being nothing to speak of articulately. Truth has a way of surprising us.

As one sees things in this new way, the world may appear to be more crazy than previously thought. But the mental hospital that the world now seems, is also now known to be perfect. Perfect in the sense that this is how it is. Universal laws are at play and things transpire just as they do. How could it be any other way? Arguing with reality is a lost cause. There is nothing wrong. There is nothing to change in this moment in which one finds oneself alive. Saying that, does not mean that things are necessarily beneficial or must stay the same, but that reality just is, neither good nor bad. “Good” and “bad” now become values which are null and void, paling in comparison with the brilliance of seeing reality – the Now moment – as it is. We don’t stop taking action to improve the world, but we do so from a place of accepting the outcomes whatever these may be. Action becomes joyful in and of itself without ego providing motive, such as desperate ambition or seeking renown.

As the truth of our own Self is glimpsed, it becomes evident that traversing darkness does indeed lead us to light. The dark night is the wake-up call we sent to ourselves to remind us of our true purpose on earth. The dark night of the soul offers a dynamic that can purify a person’s spiritual vision and resulting actions. It is ultimately a gift that reveals the real Self and brings one back to one’s unadulterated, untarnished state of happiness that is intrinsic, though hidden, in all of us.

What is love? There are many schools of thought and I must say, being based in perception, ‘love' is highly misunderstood.

What is love? There are many schools of thought and I must say, being based in perception, ‘love’ is highly misunderstood.

Love is an experience. It’s an energy utilized for the highest good. It has nothing to do with a person, place or thing; it’s a feeling, a gift of light, and when we allow it to consume us, it raises our vibration and enhance our lives. On the other hand, if we permit our observations and judgments to overshadow the love we feel for someone else, or ourselves for that matter, we’re no longer fully experiencing love.

Allowing love is challenging. Love is not. Love shows up and inspires us and often times, as soon as something happens we deem unacceptable or less than favourable, we stop dead in our tracks and dismiss the person, place or thing. However, for the courageous, love is something they cling too because they’ve felt the fire and caught a glimpse of the possibilities.

Unfortunately, many people believe love is difficult and jump from person to person and circumstance to circumstance because it’s easier to start anew rather than explore the depths of their being. You see, that is what love does. It opens the heart and doors to our core. It causes us to face the shadows in order to embrace the light; yet, so many people are afraid to really look at the dark and will write it off as being the wrong person, place or thing.

I’m here to tell you, there is no such thing as right or wrong; we are simply introduced to experiences that offer beautifully complex opportunities to embrace ourselves in our entirety.

Society tells us there is someone for everyone; that each one of us has a soul mate and so on. What if this was someone’s way of justifying their own pursuit of love? What if anyone is that person, we’re just consumers of the belief that there is only one and choose to pursue that perfect person; yet, when perfection is NEVER found, we adopt the philosophy we’re destined to ‘do’ life alone and settle until we can’t take ‘it’ any longer or that person does show up.

It’s no wonder so many people walk around feeling lost and confused. The perfection, as we define it, doesn’t lie in a person, place or thing, it lies in the opportunity to allow love to surround and support us; to break us down and reveal the things we’ve been avoiding and embrace them as a part of us with someone else watching and showering us with the trust, patience and compassion.

The biggest problem I see is when one or both people are sold on the concept of finding the right one and feeling discouraged when breakdowns occur.

Breakdowns are opportunities to shift, grow, nurture and persevere! It’s what inspires all forms of art, and the reason I’m writing this article. I’m committed to and believe in the power of love. Is it beautiful and perfect? That depends on your definition and whether or not you’re willing to expand your thinking to embrace the beauty of the shadow and see the perfection in the imperfections.

Love is God’s gift to each of us. It’s a Divine flash light, of sorts, to explore the depths of our individual Universe’s. To reject or resist love is to reject or resist the Divine. To turn away from the light is to buy into one more context: stay away from the light … sound familiar? Oddly enough, we’re actually pursuing the light in our soul, so why on earth do we shy away from the light of another?

We are light beings, and allowing the light of another to fuel our fire is God’s greatest gift to be all that we can be. Our shadows are weaknesses that are complimented by the love and strength of another, not something to run from or hide. Allowing another to see this side of us and be the strength we deserve is the greatest sign of gratitude we can give to our self, the other person and most importantly the One ~ the Divine!

Connect with Your Ultimate Self.

The Ultimate Cause of Everything: Connect with Your Ultimate Self

The Ultimate Cause of Everything: Connect with Your Ultimate Self

Connect with Your Ultimate Self.

When looking at causation, we need to ask: What causes things? What is the ultimate cause of everything? By taking a look at the universe we can see that everything is interlinked at such a level that we can’t help but wonder if anything really can happen. We need to understand that it’s up to the universe to make things happen. The entire universe needs to conspire to cause them to happen.

There’s this wonderful saying that I like: “When I pull a blade of grass, the entire universe shakes.” Scientists and philosophers around the world will agree with and validate the fact that things are interconnected. Everything is interlinked even at microscopic level. But all this causality and interlinking occurs in space and time. When it comes to enlightenment, what we’re talking about is that which is before, beyond and transcends space and time. In this realm, this realm beyond description, there is no causality. Everything and the world just is, because it is. There is no cause and everything has no cause.

Often I compare this analogy to water or the vast ocean. The ocean can take various shapes. It can transform itself into ice cubes that are magnificent, beautiful universes shaped out of ice. Or, it can transform into steam, becoming beautiful, wonderful heavens and hells created out of steam. But ultimately, everything that is created comes out of an ocean. It is a vast, infinite ocean that always was and always will be. Our minds, on the other hand, are part of the space-time continuum. Concepts and theories lie because they seek causation but they’re part of a change. That which is permanent, however, does not change. The ocean which we are is, always has been and always will be.

The universe that we live in now isn’t caused; it just is. All there exists is this vast ocean of consciousness that’s ultimately all it can be. We perceive change and differences because of space and time. But the ultimate reality of who or what we are is this vast ocean of awareness, universes, gods, religion, that are all created out of this oneness. It is this non-dual, non-causal, ultimate reality of who we are.

When we relax we let the mind be still. We connect with that ultimate, true self of who we are by quieting the mind. By just being, there is a connection and we awaken to who we are. It is called enlightenment but it is an awakening to our true self. It is waking up to our ocean, our infinite, everlasting state that is beyond concepts and is who we are.

This is where causality ceases and we just be. When we let go of all our concepts – life, death, self, non-self – and we just be, we enter the ultimate reality: that which always is, and always has been.  We awaken to enlightenment. When our minds are still, absolutely still, we wake up to who we are and what we find is that we are no more. What we are is infinite. The small “I” exists no more. Again, it’s like the ice cube melting and realizing “Ah! I’m not an ice cube, I’m an ocean. I always have been and I always will be. I’ve never really ultimately been an ice cube. I’m the ultimate, true, infinite self. Wow!”

The problem is that we often get caught into thinking “Ah! I’m an ice cube. The universe is an ice cube. It’s real. It’s tangible.” But guess what? It will melt away. Someday everything will be gone except for that which always has been and always will be. Be that. You and I are that.

When we wake up to this true, infinite self of who we are, then we relax and are at peace. All is well because we realize that we don’t have to fear anything or desire anything. Everything is and we are that.
Be that and stop identifying with every label you give; there is no more “I” in this state. There just is, without causation.

Life Experiences – Choice – Karma – Unconditional Love – Part 5

The ultimate goal of the soul is to seek, to experience, and to understand the  marvelous wonder of existence. Enlightenment is achieved when one finds  perfection and unconditional love in all experiences. This progresses through  eons of time, with each lifetime gaining, unfolding, and developing new  awareness every experience of every lifetime adds to the whole of the soul. You are forever expanding  and accumulating information consciously and unconsciously. Although our  physical being does not, the soul remembers in perfect detail every experience  ever had; every thought ever thought; every word, feeling, smell, scene, and  taste ever known. It all is categorized and remembered. This creates a  particular energy: The energy of you.

evolution of love

There is a cause and effect  inherent in everything, including thoughts. The soul not only seeks experience,  it also seeks itself. The soul is the divinity of God and unconditional love  incarnate. The secret of life is not in pointing fingers at everybody else and  judging their behaviors or beliefs, but in looking closely at self and noticing  what choices you make for yourself and where those choices take you. Are they  based in fear or love? Are they for your highest good? Are you adding positively  or negatively to life as a whole, including all life on the planet?  This, my  friend, is a full time job. Do not worry  about what you have done; stay focused on what you are doing. Karma is balanced  through love. Love is the most powerful  and greatest energy of the universe, and it will positively affect even the most  adverse situations. It is the ultimate healer. It is God. It can be used to heal  and balance any situation in the universe.

The universe is based on and  created from love. Anything not of love will create an imbalance, and the  universe will strive to put this energy into balance. This balancing is not  about punishment and reward, but it is about natural consequences. Striking out  at others, grievances, unforgiveness, hatred, violence, anger, fear, and  jealousy all have an energy to them, and there will be a reaction if this is the  energy you choose to display. This energy is real and will affect you even if  your attitudes remain as thoughts only. You will feel the effects of your  negative attitudes and actions because they will become enormous obstacles to  the growth of your soul. Make note that I am not saying these attitudes are  wrong, but that they do constitute an extremely dense energy that will inhibit  your own enlightenment. Remember, to seek enlightenment is to seek love.

The enlightenment of the soul is based in love and walking the spiritual path  from the heart. Being aware and conscious means making deliberate choices to  exhibit love, no matter what situation or life condition you find yourself in.  This change always involves personal work  and commitment to the process of change. It can be complex, and you may feel  like you are beating your head against a wall. Truly, the soul is complex, vast,  immortal, interconnected, and multifaceted. This makes healing and change also  complex and vast. However, when you are working with love as a tool, you are  using the most powerful force in the universe, and the results can be  miraculous.

I have personally found that when I feel blocked in my own  growth, it is often wise to seek someone who works with energy and is not  invested in my personal issues. This helps achieve clarity. Spiritual growth can  often be facilitated by someone who works with energy and the healing of the  soul. In some situations, our obstacles might stem from soul loss that occurred  earlier in life or from circumstances of another lifetime and are not present in  our conscious mind. The spirits have taught me that the care of the soul is the  first concern, and that the soul is a composite of all that you have ever  experienced in all lifetimes. This complexity of the soul creates multilevels of  healing and makes growth possible.

10 Universal Laws You Need To Know

Recently, there has been a lot of hype about the Law of Attraction. People are writing about it as though it is something new, however this is not the case. The Law of Attraction and all other universal laws have existed since the beginning of time. The creation of all that is, our entire existence, is governed by subtle laws that exist in the universe. We cannotsee them however we know that they are present. For example, we know that “what goes up must come down.” This is a universal law. We also know that when we work with them, our thoughts and actions are aligned with divine flow and ease, and when we work against them, we create struggle and dis-ease. Thus, it only makes sense to familiarize ourselves with some of these laws when we are wanting to attract new people, places, things, and experiences into our lives. When we understand the innate nature of these laws, we become better at manifesting in our lives.

ask, believe, receiveSuccessful manifestation occurs when these laws are present in our lives, so understanding and working with these laws is the first step. Ultimately, successful manifestation of anything is dependent upon: making a conscious choice of what we want; ensuring that we are wishing for what we truly want; seeing, speaking, and write our manifestations; giving thanksas though it has already happened; and, letting go and letting God, knowing that the universe will always bring us what is most appropriate and in our highest good and growth. existed since the beginning of time. The creation of all that is, our entire existence, is governed by subtle laws that exist in the universe. We cannot see them however we know that they are present.

Here are 10 of the universal laws that you need to know to successfully manifest what you want in your life:

The Law of Abundance

When we create images of abundance in our lives, we attract this energy into our reality. Abundance does not only apply to money. We also l long for an abundance of love, relationships, peace, harmony, opportunities, faith, success and much more. Where are you longing for more abundance in your life?

The Law of Action

God works with us, not for us! We can be extremely gifted, talented, compassionate, deserving and so on, yet only action will materialize our wishes. Being a passive participant in our lives allows us to watch our life like a movie, whereas being an active participant allows us to star in the leading role. Which role do you choose?

The Law of Divine Flow

Living in the moment, maintaining a state of love, being grateful, and serving others aligns us to the law of divine flow. In turn, we are more connected to ourselves, to others, to the universe, and to God. This deep sense of connection allows for more peace, love, grace, compassion, and synchronicity which is divine flow. How can you create more flow in your life?

The Law of Economy

This law governs energy (matter) and energy always follows the line of least resistance. When we try to make things happen that are not in our highest good or the highest good of all, those actions are met with resistance (the Law of Economy). Spending energy trying to overcome resistance and universal laws as we attempt to manifest is wasted energy that could be spent where there is flow and receptivity. The more energy we save, the more we have to spend on things that truly matter. Where do you need to shift the focus of your energy?

The Law of Expectation

Energy always follows our thoughts. When we expect bad things, bad things will happen. When we expect and believe in good things, good things will happen. Therefore, our thoughts always shape our experiences and expectations. What thought patterns do you need to shift?

The Law of Good Will

When we manage the energy of our thoughts and actions, and create good thoughts and wishes for ourselves and others, we automatically create the energy of good will. The energy of good will, when understood by many, creates a collective consciousness of good will and has the ability to transmute the “ill will” of others. The more we strive to be in a state of good will and in alignment with this law, the more we will attract good will into our energy fields, which can cultivate the power manifestation and abundance in our lives. How are you practicing good will in your life?

The Law of Grace

When we create good karma for ourselves, and focus outside of ourselves for the healing of others and Mother Earth, we implement the Law of Grace. This means that we might receive more than we have worked for or seemingly deserve allowing us to manifest even more of what we want in our lives. How can you live a more graceful life?

The Law of Intention

Energy always follows intent. When we perform an act of kindness and our intention is to be recognized for our goodness, or we have a hidden agenda, we will not be rewarded through the universal Law of Grace. Intention and effort must be aligned in order to successfully manifest. When we intend to generate more money in our lives, and we reduce our spending on non-essentials and become more responsible with our money, we create more money. More importantly, when we demonstrate that we can handle more, the universe gives us more. This is the Law of Intention. How can you improve the intentions that you are setting in your life?

The Law of Manifestation

When we think, visualize, and speak what we wish to manifest, as though it is already happening in our lives, we activate this law. Our manifestations need to be positively focused, emphasizing what we want to create, rather than what we do not want to create. What do you wish to create in your life today?

The Law of Patience

Patience allows us to learn to more about ourselves, our values, and to practice faith and surrender to the universe. Through patience we learn to allow for divine timing and trust that everything that we hope to manifest is occurring in its own divine order. Following this law allows for successful manifestation. Where do you need more patience in your life?

The Law of Three Requests

When we repeat what we are requesting of the universe three times, it activates the universal power of three and brings a stronger energy to what we intend to manifest. Often this accelerates this speed in which we attract what we have been requesting. How can you incorporate this law in your manifestation techniques?

Life is a Series of Spiritual Choices. Choose Wisely!

Are you present to the abundance of opportunities and choices available to  you in each and every moment? It truly is amazing! From what foods to eat, to  what people to connect with, to when to go to bed and wake up, to what you will do in this moment and the  next – the choices and options are literally limitless!choices

We are making choices all day long in each and every moment. One could say  that life is basically a series of choices. The choices you are making today not  only create and affect your current moment experience, but in fact, are creating  your future moments and experiences. Our “future” is basically the culmination  of the series of choices we have made over the past. Just look around you –  everything, every aspect of your entire life at this moment, you have chosen.  Wow! We are very powerful.

As you reflect on this truth, it becomes clear that “wisely choosing” in each  and every moment is the key to creating our life as we desire it. But how do we  “wisely choose”? Since there is an infinite number of choices and options  available to us in every moment, how do we know which is the right one?

The answer to this question is  multi-fold, but a MAJOR factor is being connected to your body-based wisdom, to  Source-based intelligence. This is how you will know. The “head,” by itself, has  no vision and is simply a task-manager – I’m sure you know what it’s like when  this task-manager is running your life – miserable! This head-based task-manager  needs a leader; it needs a vision and some wise guidance. The “tasks” need to be  informed by a larger context.

So, how do we “choose wisely?”

On the path of transformation and evolution it’s quite likely you’ll  experience many moments of epiphany and enlightenment. These are fabulous  moments and times in one’s life. One that I’d like to share with you from my  life was particularly impactful because I received some insight that has made a  big difference for me in my day-to-day life. I’m hoping it will make a  difference for you too.

At this particular time in my life I was working very hard in a corporate  role with a lot of responsibility. I had planned a 4 day silent retreat on the  Big Sur Coast of California. I had reservations at a hermitage down there and I  was going to spend three nights and four full days in silence; both in solitude  and with the Christian monks that are in residence there. I had never done  anything like that before and I didn’t know what to expect, but I was looking  forward to it.

So I headed on down there, checked in, got to my trailer, and set up shop. I  had taken only the basics: a couple books, my journal, and some warm clothes  since it can get quite cold and foggy. While I brought my computer and cell  phone, I purposely left them turned off and in the car – if I was going to do  this thing I wasn’t going to cheat myself out the experience by doing stuff I  was always doing.

Given the high-speed mode I had been running in, it took a little while to  settle into the energy and rhythm of the  place. If you’ve never been there, the Big Sur coast is one of the most  spectacular and powerful places on the planet and I highly recommend you visit.  On about the second or third day I decided to go on a walk down the winding,  mile long driveway that connects the hermitage to Highway 1 that runs along the  ocean (The Pacific Coast Highway). The hermitage sits high on the mountainside  overlooking a huge expanse of the Pacific Ocean.

As I was walking down this road I started becoming more and more open to  everything around me. The flowers that were blooming were brighter than I would  normally see them. The trees and the birds and everything was coming into my  awareness at a more intense level, and it kept unfolding that way as I continued  down the path. It was the most amazing experience. I even wrote a short poem after this experience called “Look At That,  Wow!” because everything I looked at was a Wow! experience. It was that  impressive, it was amazing.

Eventually I came to this one particular bend in the road where there was a  rock outcropping. As I stepped out onto that outcropping, I was grounded on that  solid piece of earth. From there, the spectacular Big Sur coastline unfolded and  laid out to my left as far as my eyes could see. And out in front of me was the  Pacific Ocean going out as far as I could see, gleaming in the sunshine. And  above me was the sky, huge and abundant, with these little white clouds floating  in it. And I just stood there on that rock. And my heart broke wide open. I  couldn’t contain the emotion I was experiencing, the love was just pouring down  though me. That’s the best way I can describe it. I just opened up in that  moment and had that experience of oneness. That everything is fine. Everything  is OK. I have a place in the Universe. And this is it. There is nothing to do.  Nowhere to go. Everything is whole and complete, right here, right now.

At that moment I was so FULFILLED and so connected to the energy of the  Universe that I yelled out “Don’t ever leave me!” And what I instantly heard  back was “We can’t. Only you can leave us.” And I started laughing, because in  that moment it was so blatantly obvious to me that indeed, it’s ME that is  coming & going, connecting & disconnecting. I am in the driver’s seat  and I am choosing. Just like you are. It or They, or however you want to  contextualize it for you in your experience – Universal Intelligence, Great  Spirit, Source, God Energy – is always there. And it’s us that is moving in and  out of connection with It.

God, Universal Intelligence, Great Spirit, Source is ALWAYS available. You’re  NEVER alone. You can count on that and rely on that. And THAT is a beautiful  thing.

Pay attention to the choices you are making. If you find yourself wondering  “Where is God? Where is this Universal Love and Intelligence in MY life?”  Consider that God, Universal Love and Intelligence is wondering where YOU are?”  Your partnership with Source, with Life Force Energy, is something YOU must  choose, initiate, and develop. You must take that first step.

Proactively CHOOSE to stop your life, your thoughts, and your “busy-ness” and  create some space to hear that “still small voice” inside. Universal  Intelligence is waiting for YOU to make this choice – “It” will not force itself  upon you – YOU must willingly choose to allow “It.” This is perhaps the most  profound and important choice of your life.  Making THIS choice will provide new context and vision for your life and enable  wise-choosing in your moments to come. Are you willing? The choice is yours.
