Mediumship – Working with the “senses”
Mediums use their “senses” to link with the spirit world. Listed below is a brief description of the main senses that are used.
The ability to see spirit clearly
Clairvoyance is the art of ‘seeing’ with senses beyond the five we normally use.
Clairvoyance is often called the ‘sixth sense’. It is related to the images in your mind that bring messages from other realms.
These images can be shape, colours, still, animated, remain only a few seconds or last a longer time. You may ‘see’ them with your eyes open or closed.
In clairvoyance we ‘see’ with what is commonly called the ‘third eye’. In the human body there is a gland called the pineal gland. It is located in the back area of the brain almost in the centre of the head. The pineal gland looks like an eye. It is round and has an opening on one portion. In that opening is a lens for focusing light. It looks upward. It is hollow and it has colour receptors.
Just as the eyes on our face can look up to 90 degrees away from the direction they are set, the pineal gland can also ‘look’ as much as 90 degrees away from its set direction (up). And just as we cannot look out the back of our heads, the pineal gland cannot look down.
Some people find is easy to tune their frequencies in to the other side to ‘see’. Other people develop the skill with practice. Some people can never master it.
The ability to hear spirit clearly
Clairaudience is having the ability to hear messages from the spirit world. Some can hear spirit as if a voice has come from inside their head, but it is also possible to hear it from outside as though the voice is coming from across the room.
Clairaudience is a mediumistic ability, which enables mediums to be receptive to sounds or vibrations from the world of spirit.
Thoughts can actually be heard, because they make vibrations at a mental level, as in the spirit world a thought is sent forward and instantly received by a particular person. So a thought from a particular guide or spirit person can actually be heard. All our thoughts are registered in the next world.
The ability to sense the presence of spirit clearly…
Clairsentience or ‘clear feeling’ is the ability to perceive emotions and physical feelings that are impressed upon the medium by a spirit person.
Mediums can often “feel” the symptoms of physical pain or illness experienced during the ending of a spirit’s earthly life, especially in the run up to the time of their passing. The feelings can be feelings of discomfort in a certain part or parts of the body to quite intense pain, or a “taking on” of symptoms.
These feelings are only temporary and can be quite unpleasant for the medium, but if the medium is too uncomfortable they only have to ask the spirit to take the feelings away and they will.
But it is not only the feelings or symptoms of passing that a spirit will impress upon the medium, they will also impress upon the medium their love for those they have left behind.
Also known as “Clear Knowing”
Claircognizance is probably one of the “lessser Known” of the Clair family, however it is quite commonly used by mediums, sometimes unknowingly. It is described as a “clear knowing”.
Claircognizance is possibly, once understood, one of the least challenging of the Clair senses.
Clairsentience, Clairaudience and Clairvoyance all require the medium to interpret in some way the information that is being passed to them by the spirit communicator.
However Claircognizance does not require this, as the information is passed by the communicating spirit direct through the crown chakra, and therefore the information is there inside the mediums mind instantly (hence the term “clear Knowing”. The medium becomes aware of information and knowledge of situations or conditions that can be given out direct to the recipient, without the need for thought or interpretation.
Claircognizance is said to be “one level up” from Clairsentience.
